Apparently, users have something in common with Soylent Green. While I agree philosophically that a more human/e appelation would be preferable, I disagree that going from contextually-specific (user, subject, consumer) to the semantically broader, generalized "People" is better. Sorry, Don, but I think we're better off leaving language observations to William Safire.
